Handles are the most frequently bumped feature in the kitchen. Clothes catch as you walk by, dust accumulates beneath them, and a line drawing the eye appears on every single door. A beveled door is a design where the top edge of the base cabinet door is shaved inward at a 45-degree angle, allowing you to hook your fingers to open and close it. The handle itself disappears. By pairing this with a narrow Y-channel, the gap between the countertop and cabinet door is minimized. Because it requires precise cutting of inclined edges, this technique has traditionally been used primarily in high-end kitchens.

The top two shelves of kitchen upper cabinets often end up as dead space. Unreachable without bringing over a chair or step stool, frequently used items inevitably cluster only at the bottom. With the Auto-Motion upper cabinet, an electric lift lowers the storage unit down to a comfortable reach. You can utilize the upper shelves as actual storage without needing a step stool. Because it requires power, the location must be determined during the wiring stage; it is difficult to add after finishes are completed.

Pocket Folding Cabinet | Younglim

In layouts where the living room and kitchen are connected, kitchen appliances remain fully visible from the living room. Even after tidying up, induction cooktops, range hoods, and cooking utensils stay exposed. Adding standard doors means open doors obstruct passage. A pocket folding cabinet features doors that fold and slide completely into side pockets. When open, no doors protrude outward, and when closed, the entire kitchen area is neatly concealed like a wall. They are frequently used by keeping them open while cooking and closing them only when guests visit.

Interior job sites become hectic when installing hidden details. Aligning the lines and surfaces of door frames is challenging enough, but making hardware like hinges and screws invisible requires routing mortises or fine-tuning angles, which can be cumbersome. Sugatsune's hidden hinge serves as a shortcut to save time and hassle during this process. Because HES2S does not require routing mortises into door frames, installation time is reduced and site workload is lightened. Furthermore, fine adjustments across three directions (up/down, left/right, front/back) can be made post-installation to address door sagging or clearance issues. Designed to avoid damaging existing door frames, it also offers visually clean aesthetic details.

When Should These Five Details Be Decided?

Start with Irreversible Items

Locations for continuous power can only be determined during the wiring stage while walls are open. Electric lifts, motorized curtains, and recessed devices all fall under this category. Adding them after finishes are complete is difficult.
Postpone Reversible Items

Hinges, slides, and handles leave room for future replacement. If your budget is tight, it is safer to decide on irreversible items first and postpone reversible ones.
