Performance and durability only reveal themselves over time

When choosing materials, the finish you can see and the price tag are easy to compare, but performance and durability don't show themselves right away. How much noise actually dies down, whether condensation forms in winter, how many years the insulation holds up, whether the rooftop leaks in the rain — these only become clear after months, or years. So even materials that look similarly priced at first end up worlds apart over time.

The problem is that the difference usually only shows up later. Insufficient sound absorption lets noise build up over time, weak window insulation comes back every year as higher heating bills and condensation or mold, insulation that's vulnerable to fire makes any accident worse, and poor waterproofing lets water seep in under the roof. Fixing a defect after it appears almost always costs more than choosing the right material in the first place would have.

That's exactly why these materials need to be chosen on proven performance, not appearance or brand name alone. Test certificates, certifications, and actual installation track records are what the decision should rest on. Acoustic Panels

Acoustic panels absorb reverberation and noise inside a room, and work best paired with sound-blocking materials. Insulation and condensation come down to the window

System Windows

A system window fits the frame, glass, and hardware together with precision to boost airtightness, insulation, and sound blocking. Aluminum is strong but conducts heat easily, making it prone to winter condensation — Vaton's new M-PVC wraps the aluminum frame entirely in PVC, pushing insulation up to Grade 1 and holding condensation in check. It's a hybrid structure that combines aluminum's rigidity with PVC's insulating properties in a single frame. It's not the surface that needs to resist fire — it's the core

Semi-Noncombustible Insulation

Insulation cuts down heating and cooling loads by blocking heat transfer, but cheap EPS is vulnerable to fire and has been named a factor in several major building fires. DK BOARD's DK Board-X doesn't just coat the surface with flame retardant — the core material itself is made semi-noncombustible, the first product of its kind to reach mass production in Korea. Buildings three stories or 9 meters or taller need a full-scale fire test certificate for exterior finishing, and this product has passed both wet and dry construction tests, meeting the tightened regulation head-on. A surface-treated product and one that's semi-noncombustible all the way through the core can look identical on the outside — but in front of a fire, the difference is decisive.

Manhole-cover technology, brought up to the rooftop

Rooftop Waterproofing

Rooftop waterproofing is exposed to rain and UV for years on end, so durability is what matters most. JUAN took the FRP composite technology it built making manhole covers and extended it into rooftop waterproofing panels. Unlike metal, it doesn't rust and has low thermal conductivity, which helps with insulation too, and because the panels are laid down as a finished surface, the rooftop can actually be used as livable space. That said, waterproofing performance comes down to joint work and installation quality as much as the material itself — even a good panel will leak if it's installed poorly.
